Visual SourceSafe (internet) Setup

Hello all,

I'm trying to setup VSS2005 on windows 2003 server and I'm running into the same issue... When I try to "Add Project to Source Control" I get the error "There was a failure uploading the URL http://myip/SourceSafe/VssUpload_db1/GUID/{GUID} Do you want to retry yes no".  The project folder gets created on the remote server but the files don't upload (error above)

 

I followed the setup instruction from http://alinconstantin.homeip.net/WebDocs/SCC/VSS_Internet.htm and yet the problem persists.

 

All the articles/posts I read point to a permissions issue but as far as I can tell it should work:

1. I created two groups myvss_admins and myvss_users and added my self to both groups

2. myvss_admins and myvss_users have modify permissions (both explorer and sharing permissions) to the share "VSS" which is where my database is

3. I even created a separate AppPool for the SourceSafe site and it's running under Network Service (I gave Network Service modify permissions as well)

4. I made sure the "Internet" plugin is the one that's selected in VS2005

 

I've spent way too much time on this.  Any and all help will be very much appreciated

I forgot to mention... I'm not using SSL.
