I Have Windows 8 Release Preview, I'm not a MSDN Subcriber so I have not Access to Windows 8 RTM, but from the Visual Studio official page I downloaded Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate, yes the final build, so.. If there's a Trial versión of Visual Studio Ultimate, why I cannot install it on my Win8 RP System?? I cannot even upgrade my .NET framework because Windows update doesn't give me that option, and there's not an update package at microsoft downloads.. What can I do?

Visual Studio 2012 RTM is only supported on Windows 8 RTM, which includes the correct version of the .NET Framework 4.5. Unfortunately, you will have to wait for Windows 8 RTM but you can continue to use VS2012 RC on the Windows 8 Release Preview.

Then why is available to everyone for download?. I mean what's the point making a public trial of Visual Studio 2012 RTM.. If Win8 RTM is not public yet...

VS2012 installs on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 as well, so it is made available for everyone.

Regardless, the initial reply stands: VS2012 RTM is only supported on Windows 8 RTM.

That is great! But, where I can get VS 2012 RC installer? It does not seem to be available public anymore. Could you throw me a link?

    Thanks.

    Heath - and everyone.

Hi. I find the 2012RC extremely slow when building a web...  I have my web site already built and precompiled.  In VS2010 it takes a fraction of a second to rebuild a page and reopen the web on localhost or remote -- BIG difference...  When I installed 2012RC alongside 2010 and imported my 2010 settings into 2012RC, the VS2010 also got in the routine of rebuilding the whole thing and taking ages to complete and the reopen the web page.  Even a simple MVC.  IE10 also is now very slow to reopen the page.  A lot of trickle-down boxes and swirling circles time to wait on -- no can do in real time environment.  I had to uninstall both 2012RC and 2010, and reinstall 2010 to get back to normal process.

Is there something I am missing???  Is it different in RTM?

I don't believe this is related to any particular setup issue. You might try posting your problem/question in an ASP.NET/Web-related forum for a better response or further diagnostics.

So what about the express versions.... it only installs on Windows 8, but can't install on the non RTM versions? Seems odd! Won't that restrict the number of Apps that developed pre-launch date?
