Welcome to the MSND forum.
From your description, it seems that your Visual Studio haven't been installed correctly. Could you please tell us if you have meet any error when installing?
I have some common steps for now:
1. Try to run your installation setup and repair it.
2. Open Visual Studio Command Prompt (2011) under All -> VS11 beta -> Visual Studio Tools (run it with Administrator privilege: right-click the program -> Run as administrator);
Try some devenv switches in command prompt:
a.Run devenv /Resetsettings to eliminate the cause of corrupted settings.
b.Run devenv /ResetSkipPkgs in Command Prompt.
c.Run devenv /Safemode to see if you can apply it correctly. This can eliminate the possibility that third party Add-ins or packages are causing problems.
If you meet any error before and you forgot the message, please collect installation logs http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E0DA314F-6216-4A18-BC6B- 7D29CF83AF20&displaylang=e&displaylang=en
After you run Collect.exe, you'll find vslogs.cab in your %temp% directory. Please upload vslogs.cab to a public site, like SkyDrive, and post the link here. (Please clear your %temp% folder, then run your installation again)
Best regards,

Hi,
vcsproj is c++ type means MSBuild is not installed successfully on your OS. Now please collect installation logs for me. I will check it for you.

Hi,
I have checked your logs and the error indicates like this:
05/14/12 15:25:18 DDSet_Warning: Error in Template (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\SetupAndDeployment\1033\InstallShield.zip), file (InstallShield.vstemplate). Unknown attribute (_locID). Source="VisualStudio"
Too many templates here are installed incorrectly. Let's try some steps to fix:
- Please open Windows Explorer, and navigate to <Visual Studio Installation Path>\Common7\IDE (by default is C:\Program Files \Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE);
- Delete the ItemTemplatesCache, ProjectTemplatesCache folder;
- Open Visual Studio Command Prompt (2011) under All apps-> Microsoft Visual Studio 2011 -> Visual Studio Tools (run it with Administrator privilege: right-click the program -> Run as administrator);
- Run the devenv /InstallVSTemplates switch;
- Run the devenv /Setup switch
If the switches can not be used and you have only installed VS11, you can open run command and change the switch to devenv.exe .
If these steps did no help(or report the same error as you provided before), please try to run your installation setup again and click repair to fix.
If still not work, try to uninstall it via setup or from Control Panel(You can filter them by installing date and delete them all from the list). Then reinstall VS11 beta. Now we do not have a tool to remove it so please try my solution first.
If you have any updates, please feel free to let me know.
Best regards,
Barry Wang [MSFT]

Hi, Barry Wang
I have been dealt with in accordance with the program you provided, and still does not solve the problem.I reinstalled VS, but the problem still exists.Install VS11 have any special system configuration?

Hi,
No, for Win 8 you do not need any system configuration.
May I ask if it is a Win8 CP system? To be honest, your issue is more related to corrupt system files on that virtual machine.
If you are sure your Win8 CP have been patched up. And you still have that issue.
You may need to consider try another Win8 CP.ISO to install your OS.
That will fix the issue.

Hi,
That might be a Win 8 system installer issue, please make sure you were downloaded from here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/iso
If both two of your machines have this issue, your system installer is corrupt and you need to re-download it.
Or you can try to check the hash number of your installer, they were listed on the page I mentioned.
Best regards,

Hi,
Win8 is still a beta version. But from your description,"WinMain_WIN8RC" means Win8 release candidate, this is not supported by us now. You haven't conform to our forum regulation.
Please use the Consumer Preview version iso.
Thanks,
