CANNOT REINSTALL VISUAL STUDIO 2010 AFTER REMOVING IT FROM WINDOWS 7 ENV

Question

VS 2010 SP1 became corrupted WHILE trying to install hotfixes KB2251489 and

KB2644980. As result I manually removed SP1. proceded to remove VS2010 Pro from the system.When attempting to reinstall via the dvd, the Maintenance Mode comes up, indicating that VS 2010 is still there. I tried using the vs2010_Uninstall-RTM.ENU.EXE alone and with the the /full and the second switch. The removal tools does not work, since it indicates that the installation is removed, and the installation program opens in Maintenance Mode. Incidentally, I tried to repair and reinstall Visual Studio 2010, both failed. i tried to uninstall and that also fails.

The error log is included below for the failed installations.

Please please tell me how I can force the Installation Program to open properly for the Full Installation that I need.

You can see the following CRC number:

The CRC and SHA1 hash values of your downloaded ISO image should match these:

CRC: 0xfa193733
SHA-1: 0x3bcbf080383a5ecbac4f6e4609004a5633e41f32

Please check your ISO files, it they do not match.

Please downlaod the ISO again.

VS2010 SP1 BECAME CORRUPTED WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GET HOTFIXES KB2644980 AND KB2251489 INSTALLED.

i MANUALLY UNINSTALLED SP1, AND FINALLY WAS ABLE TO UNINSTALL VS2010. WHEN I ATTEMPED TO REINSTALL VS2010 PRO FROM THE INSTALLATION DVD, I WAS PRESENTED WITH THE "MAINTENANCE MODE" SCREEN, WHICH DID NOT OFFER A FULL INSTALLATION. I TRIED REPAIR/REINSTALL AND THAT FAILED, CLEARED OUT THE CONTROL PANEL ACCORDING TO BLOGS AND INSTRUCTION SHEETS IN MSDN AND USED THE VS2010_UNINSTALL TOOL WITH AND WITHOUT THE SWITCHES. I CLEARED OUT THE TEMP FILES. WHEN I ATTEMPT TO REINSTALL VS2010 PRO, I CONTINUE TO GETTING THE MAINTENANCE MODE!! BOTH THE ATTEMPT TO REPAIR AND UNINSTALL FAIL!!!

VS2010 PRO IS INDICATED AS NOT BEING INSTALLED. I DOWNLOADED A SECOND INSTALLATION IMAGE, AND WITH BOTH PRODUCING THE SAME FAILURES - IT'S NOT THE IMAGE THAT IS CAUSING PROBLEMS.  I HAVE INCLUDED THE ERROR LOG ENTRY BELOW FOR THE CURRENT INSTALLATION FAILURE.

PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET TO THE INSTALLATION SCREEN!!!

I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS FOR 4 DAYS!!!

Hi Barry,

I downloaded the ISO directly, and installation runs differently. In the course of installing however, the installation is looking for the feature VS10SP1-KB2529927.MSP. This module is not my system. Isn't it a service pack? It is apparently available as an exe for download. Please advise, and thanks!

It seems this KB2529927 is an Updates included in the SP1 package. But you can try to download it from here:

Additionally, have you tried to verify CRC or SHA-1 number of the ISO? Could you please check the ISO CRC number and share me the result?

Have you manually uninstall all Visual Studio products from control panel? Have you manually delete some Visual Studio files before?

Could you please try to use complete command when using this tool http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2010uninstall ?

Also, please remember to uninstall every Visual Studio related components from control panel. This will help you remove those components which was still on your OS.

Your error now can be confirmed that you haven't remove all Visual Studio features.

After you have done this, please clear your %temp% folder and re-install PRO again.

If failed, please gather the new fresh log for me to analyse.
