Not able to install msi file into windows 7

Question

I have the msi file which has developed using visual studio 2005. I get the following exception when try to install this msi file into windows 7.

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80005000): Unknown error (0x80005000).

what is the root cause of this exception?

Please help.
