Hi experts,
When I installed HP Enterprise SQL Optimizer on our DL980, I got an error message like below. How do I fix it?
Product: HP Enterprise SQL Optimizer Merge Module -- Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'policy.9.0.Microsoft.VC90.DebugCRT,version="9.0.30729.4148",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32-policy"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x8007054F. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, component: {C9E71031-3062-35E6-A16C-7E7029F499DE}

Hi Dennislee,
Typically a 1935 is caused by a file being locked. You should try a couple of things:
1. Just try the setup a couple of times. Sometimes retrying solves this issue.
2. Try to turn off anti-virus protection, which can lock files not always nicely, and try again.
3. Try rebooting and then try again.
Thanks!

Hi dennislee124.
Welcome to the MSDN forum.
From your description, your issue is more related to “HP Support Forum”. May be you can post your question there. Our forum is “Visual Studio Setup and Installation Forum”.
Additionally, for 0x8007054F, it means internal error occurred. Usually it means you may have to check your hardware, maybe you can try:
1) Open the "Computer" window
2) Right-click on the drive in question
3) Select the "Tools" tab
4) In the Error-checking area, click <Check Now>.
Best regards,
Barry Wang [MSFT]

Hi Barry,
Thanks for your reply. Actually, I had posted on HP DL forum but no one replied.
Anyway, I found my D drive is a DVD Rom and there is no such a folder "w7rtm".
Also, I found CBS.log is located in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and when I tried to rename it, I found it is open by Windows Modules Installer. Maybe someone knows what's going on.

Hi dennislee124, what OS are you on?
Can you please check if you have any entries called Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable installed in the Programs list found in Control Panel?
