AnswerCan I install Visual Studio Web Authoring Component for VWD 2008 Express seratately?

I tried to download and install VWD 2008 Express when I found out that VWD 2005 Express was discontinued. When I tried to install this it failed to install the web authoring component, a conflict with an old paint program I used caused it I believe. I tried many things to fix this but was unable to. I've been sifting through the forums lately trying to find a way to do this. Everything I looked at suggested finding a folder with the WebDesignerCore in it. I've searched my entire hard drive but I've been unable to find it. It might be because I was using a program that removes temp folders from the hard drive. I was hoping there might be a way to either remove the partial install of this component or download it separately and try and install it again. I do have a second computer that I just made, can I install it on this one and get this from that computer?

    Thanks,

    Jamie

    Hi Jamie,

Do you mean that you want to install web authoring component separately from VWD2008?

If yes, you can get it separately.
    Please try the following steps:
    - Download Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition (all the Express products) from:
http://www.microsoft.com/express/download/default.aspx#webInstall >> Get ISO package of VS2008 Express Edition
    - Extract this ISO file
    - WebDesignerCore can be found in the path: ...VS2008ExpressWithSP1EN.iso\VWDExpress\WCU\WebDesignerCore

Hope this answers your question. If you have any concern, please feel free to let me know.

    Thanks
