Hi,
The ISO file might be corrupt, can you please try some download manager software to download VS2010 again to eliminate some possible cause of corrupted installer media and then try to Install again.

Hi PhilippCH,
Thank you for your post.
Some clarification with you:
What's your OS?
Based on the screen shot and error message, it would be hard to say what the root cause is.
Could you please help me to try MsiInv tool to check whether VS2010 Beta or RC has been completely removed?
http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2005/07/01/using-msiinv-to-gather-information-about-what-is-installed-on-a-computer.aspx
If any pre-released components are not removed, you can try MsiInv tool or Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to clear it.
If all pre-released components are removed, please try to install VS2010 RTM again.
Then please try to use some download manager software to download the installer again.
If there is any problem during the installation, could you please follow the following steps to collect the log files?
- Try to clean your "%temp%" folder (Start Menu >> Run >> Type "%temp%")
- Install VS2010
(If you're running Vista or later OS, the installer must be run with administrator privileges - Right-click the installer >> "Run as Administrator")
- Collect the logs from "%temp%" folder
Collect tool: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e0da314f-6216-4a18-bc6b-7d29cf83af20&displaylang=en
- Send vslogs.cab file to me (v-yicche@microsoft.com)
Note: Please attach the link of this post in the mail.
Hope this helps! If you have any concern, please feel free to let me know.
Best regards,
Yichun Chen
