    Hi,

I want to download and install VS2005 from MSDNAA. The information given by my teacher is very scarce, and this seems very complicated.

I want to download and install only the program for now, that is the 2 CDs.

As I have understood the process is like this:
download and copy the ISO-files to CDs, and then install.

What I want to know is, whether to download and install each CD or to download both CD's in one go and install.

    Could somebody please help? Thanks.

basically the ISO's files are the image files of the CD/DVD. you simply either:

  • Mount the ISO's using some virtual CD tool, such as MSVCD, then run the installation from this virtual CD

  • use something like ISOBuster to extract the contents of the image to a folder, then run the installation from your computer

  • Burn the image, using nero for example, to the CD, then simply run the installation from CD and install as normal, following the instructions

You would require both CD's although I am unsure what the format of the images are like from MSDNAA - one maybe a VS CD and the other an MSDN CD.

Probably best to save time and download both images just in case

    Does this help?
