I've read a lot of posts saying that either you shouldn't or should upgrade to vs2008 if you're still using sql server 2005 BI.  I don't have the ability to make any changes to the server setup, getting sql server 2008 is a matter of waiting on my organization to make the move.

Can someone give me the definitive do/don't upgrade visual studio?

    Thanks,

    Ken

    Hi Ken

    So you're using VS2005 + SQL Server 2005?
Either VS2005 and VS2008 can work with SQL Server 2005 (Sql Server 2005 BI uses VS2005 shell).

What is your main concern here and what are you going to use?

    Thanks.

Yep I'm on 05/05 now and just wanting to upgrade my visual studio.  Thanks for the information, the posts I read seemed like they were from when vs08 was in its infancy.
