IDE optimization?
IDE optimization?
- Are there any optimization tips/techniques to help speed up VS 2008 IDE? I seem to be bumping up against memory limits (either the 2GB limit - assume VS 2008 is x86 even on a Vista x64) or resources limits with Windows Forms (560 controls and the IDE gets very flakey where controls/form do not paint and trying to select code tab nothing happens).
Thanks, Rob.

- Hi Rob,
I found a useful blog that gives many suggestions of hardware recommendation to make Visual Studio faster. Some useful tips are mentioned on how to speed up Visual Studio.

If you are using web development, the following hotfix would help you to improve Visual Studio performance.

You could update your VS2008 to VS2008 SP1 to make it faster from the following link:

Service packs offer Visual Studio and .NET Framework users improvements in responsiveness, stability and performance.
Here is a useful blog that could help you to speed up a tool window.
