"Invalid URI: The URI is empty" error while creating new project with "Enable Windows Azure Tools"

Question

Hi all,

I've just installed VS2010 Beta2.
While creating new project, there is the "Enable Windows Azure Tools" project template under "Cloud Service" group.
When chose this option, define the project name and click "OK", I get "Invalid URI: The URI is empty" error messagebox.

Anything I'm doing wrong?

Hi Michael,

That project should create an Html page as it's output which redirects you here - http://blogs.msdn.com/jnak/archive/2009/10/18/windows-azure-tools-and-visual-studio-2010.aspx

As noted there, the Azure tools for VS2010 Beta 2 are yet to be released. You should bookmark that page for future reference on availability.

As to why the project system failed to create the Html page, do you have problems creating any other project types is VS2010 B2? Can you please create a bug report on this particular problem at http://connect.microsoft.com?
