Project type (.dsp) not supported

Question

I am trying to build a project with Visual Studio 2010 (Release Candidate). When I try to open the workspace I get a whole bunch of errors of the form 

" ---.dsp cannot be opened because its project type is not supported by this version of the application". 

 

What do I do to get around this problem?
