A comparison chart for QTP, RFT vs VSTS below.
A major value proposition of the TFS test tools over all other packages is that all information is stored in same repository (TFS) meaning you can do all sorts of reports, tracking etc. across project e.g.
o Tracability tracking from requirements through testing. E.g. what code is covered by what test-cases etc etc.
o Bottlenecks. Are we delayed because testers are too slow testing conditions or fixers to slow fixing bugs?
o Cross project dashboards showing status of all teams on one page,
In addition I would recommend looking at the new features in VS2010 test edition. How about
· Ability to log a bug with one click that includes
o List of exact test steps user did with an optional video showing their actions
o Intellitrace debugging. The developer can be shown exact point in code where an error occurred or even debug through code while replaying testers actions
o All info on machine it was run on, cpu, free disk etc. etc.
· And some new goodies for the tester. When they get a new release for testing they can ask the tool to show them which test-cases are impacted by the fixes made by the devs.
· Full tracability back and forth e.g. do we have requirements not covered by test, how many test-conditions pr. Code module (should likely be relatively even distributed) etc. etc.
Here is some guys that made the transition from QTP to VS2010: http://www.sqablogs.com/seekerkeeper/2915/TFS+and+VS+2010+Test+Tools+-+Making+the+Transition.html they seem to know what they are talking about
So, in my opinion if you are looking to adopt TFS as a package it is a wise decision to work on MTM to enable full end to end integration. You can look at SCRAT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsUnO3ggVQA a 3rd party tool for migration from QC to TFS.

The above information was useful
It would be great if someone has functional differences between Test Manger and Quality Center for manual testing for tracking requirements to test cases to bugs.
