Hello Bob,
For your issue I feel a little confused, do you mean what kind of virtual environment you can create for VS lab management? If my understanding is incorrect, please correct me and offer me more information about it.
As we know that virtual environment is a collection of virtual machines that run on Hyper-V hosts which are managed by SCVMM. You have two options to create virtual environments on the Lab Center page in MTM: New virtual environment and Compose virtual envrionment:
New virtual environment: with this option, you can create virtual machines by using the virtual machines or teamplates from the library.
Compose virtual envrionment: with this option, you create do not need to create virtual machines, instead you use these ones which already deployed on the hosts. That is, you can use virtual machines in the Hyper-V manager directly in the virtual envrionment. Please also refer to this MSDN article for further information about virtual environment:

Hello VIcky,
I apologize on my vagueness.
When Microsoft Lab Manager was first introduced, it was mentioned that it would first support Hyper-V but with the intent to support other virtual environments at a later date.
I was checking to see if there is support beyond hyper-V yet (VMWare, Virtual-Box, etc)
Thanks for your help,
Bob

Hello Bob,
When we create virtual environments in the MTM, we can add virtual machines directly from Hyper-V hosts or create virtual machins by using template (.vhd files) from the SCVMM library.
As we know that VMWare can be managed by SCVMM, so we can use VMWare in the Lab Management. For Virtual-Box, I am not sure whether it can be managed by SCVMM, you can consult VM experts on the Virtual Machine Manager – General forum.
Thanks.
