Locked solution explorer keyboard navigation opening files

In Visual Studio 2012, when I navigate the solution explorer with my keyboard it opens each file I navigate across. This is not what I want, and it disrupts how I used to use the solution explorer.

In Visual Studio, Resharper supports Alt+Shift+L to move the cursor the the solution explorer, selecting whatever file was being edited.  Visual Studio supports this now with Ctrl+Alt+L, which I appreciate.  However, after I use either of these keys, then use the arrow keys to navigate, then the solution explorer also also opens each file I pass.  I want to prevent these files from opening in the editor.  Only after I hit enter should a file open.

Please, otherwise the keyboard shortcuts I mentioned are useless.  Its very distracting to have 10 or so files everytime I use solution navigator.

just found this while searching for something else.  i also found this to be an infuriating problem.  visual studio calls this the "preview tab."  it opens the file in tab that is intended to cycle previews of documents that replaces the next previewed item in the same tab.  what was really annoying to me was that if i used resharper's ctrl-t to open a file, it would open as a preview and then the next one i opened would open in that tab and the first one was no longer open.  it's a bad idea.

diable it in tools - options - environment - tabs and windows.

there is a section there for "Preview Tab".  i just diabled the whole thing.

thank you thank you thank you.    I saw some of that other behavior you mentioned but had no clue WTF it was trying to do.  "Infuriating" is a good choice of words.
