    Hello

I have a serious virus problem.

It looks like there is a virus in my project,  I am working with visual studio 2008.

In particular when i start the debugging the building fails with the following error:

Error    1    Unable to copy file "obj\Debug\MyDrawing.exe" to "..\..\..\Compiled Library\MyDrawing.exe".
Could not find file 'obj\Debug\MyDrawing.exe'.  MyDrawing

and soon after my mcafee antivirus shows me a message that says a virus ( W32/Koobface.worm.gen.o) has been blocked with the following address

    D:\Fold\IDF\Library\CONTROLS\MyDrawing\MyDrawing\obj\Debug\MyDrawing.exe

It seams that when the application is built the virus is added to it

does someone know how to get rid of this virus from my project?

I have scanned all the hard disk but the problem is still there.

I also I built my application, disabled Mcafee, run malwarebytes and it does not detect anything.

Just as you said, if i run Mcafee again it detects the virus in my application

so yes, Mcafee is making a mistake, I would not put a virus in my application.. lol

I've just bought and installed AVG internet security.. Thanks for sharing marck68 - you've saved me so troubleshooting time.

It looks like only one project is affected. If I create a new one i dont have this type of problem>

what is the best strategy to try to localize the virus?

running an antivirus in the folder that hosts the solution can not find anything

    Hi marck68,

I have the exact same issue as you..

I have 1 project in VS2008 and everytime I "clean" project and then "rebuild" I get the mcafee alert

    blocked and deleted

    W32/Koobface.worm.gen.o

If you find a solution to this problem please let me know.

I disabled Mcafee (in mcafee computer and file configuration).

    I built my application

then I run malwarebytes and it does not detect anything.

If i run again Mcafee it detects the virus in the places where the application is built.

    so the chance are

    1) Malwarebytes is not able to detect this virus

    2) Mcafee is making a mistake when reading the building of my application
