Newbie: problem with credentials on staging

Hi

Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong forum. The question isn't about the Bing Map Control, but the Bing Maps Web Service. I can't find where that should be posted though.

I have signed up for a Bing Maps Developer Account, and then setup my Bing Maps Developer Account password from https://mappoint-css.live.com/CSCV3/

I can test my credential using my Web Service Account ID (148nnn), the 6 digit number.

I get the message (nicely in green):

"Your Bing Maps developer account credentials test was successful. You are authorized for access to staging"

I go through the steps for outlined in "Developing a .NET Application Using Bing Maps Web Services" at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd221354.aspx.

I then go to the: Add Web Reference dialog, and enter https://staging.common.virtualearth.net/find-30/common.asmx in the Url text box.

The Discovery Credential dialog pops up.

I enter the Web Service Account ID and password.

But, this doesn't work.

No error is displayed, but the dialog simply pops up again.

Any clues???

This is not unusual. Enter your credentials 5 or 6 times and it will work. If not then there should be an error.

As far as the forums go this is the only Bing Map forum at the moment. There has been requests for separate forums for each Bing Map control but this hasn't been created yet.
