Hi ALL,
Especially to the developers of this forum. :-)
Thank you for finally adding an Add / Edit image feature to the forums. :-D
For anyone yet to discover this see below.
When adding a post click on the icon as highlighted in the red oval below.
It put a smile on my face!! LOL!!

Yep it's better than posting a link to a shared picture on a pictures hosting site somewhere.

Hi John,
I was very interested in learning how to include a picture in my post so I tried your suggestion.
I got as far as selecting an image via Browse but the button "Insert" was not available to me, i.e it was shaded and didn't respond to a click.
Any ideas?
Regards Ron

Hi Ron,
Try the other way, please click the 1st link.

Click this link to see the NEW way of how to insert a picture into a forum post.Maybe the image you have selected is too large or it is not the right format for these forums.
Try using a .BMP image or a .JPG image, that is if you are trying the method in the 2nd link.
Regards,
John

Thanks John,
I used a .jpg image as a test so maybe it was too large.
What is the size limit of the image that can be inserted?
I just tried inserting a 44 Kb .jpg image using the NEW way and it worked fine. (I then deleted it!")

Hi Ron,
If there is a size limit I am not aware of it and I do not know, sorry.
The reason being is that I do not have any control over these forums, and I'm not a moderator, and I do not work for Microsoft.

John

John & Ron,
see this blogpost from Brent Serbus: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/addeditdelete/archive/2011/08/04/inserting-images-in-forums-posts.aspx about the limitation of the insert image feature.

If you have got questions about this, just ask.
In a perfect world,
users would never enter data in the wrong form,
files they choose to open would always exist
and code would never have bugs.

Hi Hannes,
Thanks for the link.
To save anyone clicking to have a read the image limit is 1MB
for the newer method of adding an image.
Here is a quote from that article:>>
"Clicking this will enable the user to select a local file (.png, .jpg .bmp or .gif) and insert it into their post.
There are two important limitations for including images:
1. users can only include a maximum of 2 images per post.
2. The maximum size for an image is 1MB. "
