Access Restrictions link missing in TSWA
-
Friday, July 02, 2010 1:48 PMI just installed TFS 2010 on a test VM and built a project using the SfTS template version 3. I am logged on as the Administrator and the Administrator is a member of the Project Collection Administrators Group and the Project Administrator Group for the project. I noticed that the Documents and Reports Tabs on the Team Web Access site are missing. I can see the documents and open the Process Guidance in the SharePoint Project Portal. I can access the documents folder in VS 2010 Team Explorer. When I went to check if the access was restricted to those tabs in the Team Web Access site, I noticed the Access Restrictions link is missing. Any Ideas why the Access Restrictions link and Documents and Reports Tabs are missing?

Friday, July 02, 2010 2:28 PMI found that Access Restrictions have been removed from TSWA 2010. The missing Documents and Reports Tabs question is still outstanding.

Hi James,
Portal and Reports are not necessary in TFS2010, and Web Access is included in TFS now, so Web Access does not show the content of Portal and Reports, these content is included in Project Portal.
In TFS2010, the project portal is more powerful. Project Portal will display dashbord(reports) of the project, also the documents are stored in portal. You will find that the portal is very useful in TFS2010.
We suggest that use WebAccess to manage Workitem and Build, Portal to view document and dashboad. If you are using Sharepoint 2010 with Office Web App, you can open word, excel or PPT in browser directly.
I know that it is convenient that you can view documents and reports in web access in some scenario. You can submit your feedback in https://connect.microsoft.com/visualstudio and our engineers will take it into consideration
Best regards,
Ruiz
