I have found the ability to browse and compare versions of source code files.  However, I do not see any way to search the text of source files.  Is that possible?

    Kevin,

If you have power tools installed, in visual studio, you could go to file, source control, find in version control (wildcard, file name). This lets you search files by name in your version control, this can be done in Web access as well without the power tools. You would need to have the solution, project or file open to be able to search for text with in the file. Even with web access, unless you have some advanced features of product sharepoint 2010 such as search you will not be able to search with in the files with out having them open.

Thanks Tarun for your kindly help.

    Hello Kevin,

    Thanks for your post.

If you want to search by the file name in the TFS version control, just as Tarun you can use the Find in Source Control option to do so. And another choice for you is that you can install TFS Sidekick. And just like Find in Source Control option, it supports the wildcard search as well.

In addition, if you want to search the content of the source code in the TFS version control, you can just use the TfsSearchCode to do so, please see:

    Thanks.
