Does anyone know of a way to give members of the WIOV group in Team Web Access the ability to see not just their work items, but new work items that are linked to their original request when a copy is made?

    Hi Wayne,

    Thank you for your post.

I am not clear about "new work items that are linked to their original request when a copy is made? ", would you please make an example to explain it?

As far as I know, in current release, user in WIOV group create and view only their own work items. In other words, you can view all work items create by yourself. Do not support tree view link work item.

In order to get management to agree to using Team Web Access as a distributed "systems request" apparatus, I had to build a custom work item that only displayed the field elements we need the user to fill out.  We will have one section of our staff that will screen new work items.  If the developer assigned to the item needs to use the more robust "task" or "bug" work item to flesh out the request or if the user specifies the wrong project, the person screening the request will use the "Copy Work Item" function in TFS to push the request info to the proper template which will automatically create a link in the original item.  The user can see the status of their original request and the link to the new item but cannot access or see the new item.  Which means the developer will need to consistently update both of them.  It won't be a show-stopper but it would be much more efficient if he or she only had to update the new task.

    Hi Wayne,,

Work item only view is designed to support you can create and view work items assigned to you when you do not have CAL, the work item only view restricts functionality so that you comply with this aspect of the end-user license agreement for Team Foundation Server.

As far as I know, in current release, the function you want is not support. I suggest you submit it as a suggestion to Visual Studio UserVoice site. Microsoft engineers will evaluate them seriously.
