Builds check-in policy does not work
Builds check-in policy does not work
- Hi All,
I use some check-in policies for obvious reasons. For not so obvious reasons my 'Builds' check-in policy does not work.
It definately on, but I'm able te make changes and check them in without doing a build first.
I tried removing the policy and adding it again (which works perfectly with the comments policy), but no effect.
I have no idea where else to look.
Anybody?
Greetz!

- Hello Owin,
Thanks for reporting this issue.
TFS build check-in policy only works when there is at least one build definition supporting continuous build.
You can configure the build definition in the Trigger tab. Select "Build each check-in".

Hope it helps.

- Hey Hongye,
You are absolutely right. We were confused by the confusing name and the fact that we also use the Code Analysis Policy that DOES do the check for a succesful build.
Thanx for that! I marked your answer as THE answer.
We do however have another issue with this. The CA policy works fine for the purpose of checking for a successful local build, until you use a Custom Path Policy on top of that. Then it does not check the local build any more.
Do you know how to still check the build success when using a Custom Path policy?
Thanx,
Owin
