    Hi,

Could you please try to delete the TFS registration cache on the Client? in order to do so you need to delete the cache folder.

    The folder path is

    %systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Team Foundation\2.0

    on Win2k3 and Xp

    and

    %systemdrive%\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Team Foundation\2.0 for Vista and Win2k8

I was able to cofigure the SSL settings for my TFS server except for the ReportServer.
You will notice that in the output of tfsadminutil the url generated does not match the one I sent in on the command line.

You have changed the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) for a Windows SharePoint Services site or SQL Server Reporting Services site. Team Foundation Server depends on one or more of these sites. You must run the TfsConfigWss command-line utility on the computer running Windows SharePoint Services before Team Foundation Server can function correctly.

is there somewhere that I can change this manually? based on my command line the value should be https://tfs.whact.com/ReportServer/ReportService.asmx

    rich

PS - and the values in the registry are "https://tfs.whact.com/ReportServer" but the best practices analyzer is returning:

The Web service call "ReportingService.GetSystemProperties" at https://tfs.whact.com/ReportService.asmx failed. Check configuration at Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / Configuration Tools / Reporting Services Configuration. Error message: "There is an error in XML document (1, 2)."

    Hi everyone

    I think I have 3 issues:

    Issue #1:
I am also trying TfsAdminUtil from cmd line and face same problem as Richard. May I know if there was a solution? Running this in cmd line does not result in the correct setting for me.

I have SSRS 2008, SQL 2008, TFS 2008 with SP1 (slipstream) on a Windows Server 2008 OS. I am also doing SSL and HTTPS on the TFS.

    Issue #2:
I have checked this registry key too, but it is not set to the correct URLs. Is this not done with TfsAdminUtil?

        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\TeamFoundation\ReportServer\80\Sites

    Issue #3:
I have same error as Richard above too...  from Best Practices Analyzer report in for Cirtical Issues:

"ReportServer Web Service experienced call failure. There is an error in XML document (1,2)"  for ReportingService.GetSystemProperties.

After trying this guide, the url in BPA became worse. Now my webservice is reportservice20052005.asmx!
    http://jritmeijer.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!8A48A27460FB898A!1091.entry

This is very confusing because all these settings not centralised. Any suggestion how to fix?

    Hi all

I managed to get past this hurdle.

Basically TFS stores the same configuration key value in many different locations. Correcting one key doesn't guarantee the effect will be felt in all the different locations.

You should check all the following to ensure all parts are covered.

    • Go to your Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server\Tools directory. From command line, run the following TFSReg /EXPORT TFSReg.txt YourAppTierServerName

Confirm all keys are set appropriately for your Default Web Site, Sharepoint Central Admin and TFS services. The one that killed be was the following keys: Under <Type>Wss</Type> For BaseSiteUrl it should be http://yourapptierservername/Sites, but for BaseServerUrl it should be http://yourapptierservername/
    • Go to your registry keys and check the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\TeamFoundation\REportServer\80\Sites. Make sure that BaseReportsUrl and ReportService is correct. ReportService should be the URL without asmx.
    • Under your SQL database for TFS, go to the TfsIntegration database, the tbl_service_interface table. Ensure all the records here with http://something is set correctly. For ReportService record here, it must be http://yourapptierservername/ReportServer/ReportService.asmx, regardless if you are using SSRS2005 or SSRS2008. There is some strange workaround being done in the background of TFS that will modify the "ReportService.asmx" to "ReportService2005.asmx" if it is required.

Hopefully after checking all this, you will successfully be able to create your team projects. Good luck to all
