    Hi guys

As per subject really.  I'm looking at buying a development server.  I was looking at buying one with Windows Home Server 2011 and installing TFS 2012 Express on it?

I just wondered if it was compatible with WHS?

    Thanks

    Mark

    Hi Lily.

I understand this. However, I know people have installed TFS 2010 on Windows Home Server 2011.  So I wondered if this would be the case with TFS 2012, it's not necessarily supported but will work?

    Thanks

    Hi Mark,

In official, i suggest you install corresponding supported application for TFS. Also, as you said, some one has installed TFS 2010 on windows homw server 2011, but it not means there is no risk in future usage, so i recommend you install supported OS.

    Hi Mark,

As Lily said it is not supported, but it should work.

This is the only issue I have seen around TFS 2012 + WHS 2011, and we were not able to reproduce it in a test environment.

    Hope that helps,

    Hi Chris

Thanks for the reply.  One last question.  Do you know if the TFS 2012 installation does a system check on processor etc?

I was looking at buying this (http://www.ebuyer.com/281915-hp-proliant-turion-ii-n40l-microserver-100-cashback-658553-421) as a home server as there is currently a great deal on it with £100 cashback.  But the processor speed is lower than the min specs for TFS2012...

    Thanks

    Mark
