    Hi everyone,

I'm using TFS burndown chart to track progress in my project. However, one of my team members placed invalid hours in one of his tasks. The result: Burndown now has a peak of > 1000 hours. Is there any way to update that value? I have already changed the actual cost to the correct value, but to no avail.

    Thanks,

    Sérgio

The cube is refreshed every 2 hours. Did waiting a while solve the problem?

No, that was the problem. Since the cube processes historical data, it doesn't matter if I update the value afterwards. The timeframe with the incorrect value is maintained.

Let me show you what I've got:

You can see the peak over there... there must be some way to update incorrect values!

    Thanks!

There are 2 solutions to this. The first one is modifying the value in the operational datastore, which is not supported. And the other one is destroying the work item (witadmin destroywi)

Yup, deleting the work item worked. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, can you tell me why deleting a work item is such a manual process?

Because destroying the work item removes the traceability. We recommend doing a logical delete by changing the state of the work item to Removed or Cut.

Ok, makes sense. If I change the state to removed or cut it will affect the charts and reports?

I am not totally sure, but I don't think it will affect the past.
