    Hi,

When open  "Tree of Work Items" query which has filter on the Work Item Type of the Childrens (And Linked work items that match the query below) the MS Project show all the tree and ignore the filter I put on the children.

Is there any way to solve this issue or this is by design

I facing this problem when for Requirment work item we have QA task and R&D task as children and each group wants to managed its own gant and do not see the other group tasks

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I understand your issue and in this case -- this is how we designed the MS Project client-TFS integration.

We believe that it was important for the PM to see all the details in the plan so that the roll up on the work fields would be fully accurate.  In addition, we thought that if the PM makes any changes in the plan and publishes to TFS that this model would keep everything fully consisent.

However, we have heard the request a few times now and have it on our backlog.

What is the status of this request?  I'm looking for the same thing.  Can you please update the thread?  Thank you.

Hi, we have the same requirement, i.e. to be able to control whether to include child work items in the transfer to Microsoft Project. Would appreciate an update on the status of this work.

Hi Cristina, Boris, this is still in the backlog but not very high on it so it is not something we are currently plan to work on. Please use the TFS user voice http://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-visual-studio/category/30925-team-foundation-server to enter this idea and as it gains votes it will help to move it higher in the backlog.

    Thank you for your feedback.
