Locked Use of Publish to Team Project column

    Hello

When the "Publish to Team Project" column for the work item (task or user story) is set to "Yes" and the “Publish and Refresh” column is set to "No", the item is not published to TFS. Reversely when values are “No” and “Yes” respectively the item is published.

    1) Is this how it is supposed to work?

    2) What is the use of the "Publish to Team Project" column?

    Thanks

We have 2 integration point for Project Server with TFS

    1. Client Addin: To work with Project Professional Client and TFS

    2. Server Addin: To work with Project Server and TFS

From the explanation above looks like you have Client addin. This forum is about the Server Addin (Project Server Integration).

"Publish to Team Project" is an enterprise custom field created by TFS in Project server PWA when you map a Project server PWA with TFS collection. This field value has no meaning in Client addin.

For client-addin you use "Publish and Refresh" column.

Also, you can read more about the differences between these two kinds of integration between TFS and Project here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg593279.aspx.

Hi Hardik, in order for this integration between TFS and Project Server to work properly you need to edit your Project Server Plan using MSProject Client in a machine where you have any SKU of VS 2010 with SP1 installed. That will ensure that the MSProject add-in for this integration is loading and doing the proper verifications as you edit your plan. It is true that if you open your plan in your Project Web Access that you will see fields like "Publish to Team Project" but you should avoid editing plans you have mapped to TFS using the web and you should use MSProject as described above.

Please edit the plan with MSProject and try your scenario again and let us know if you run into issues.

    Thank you.
