Validation based on linked work items during state transition?

Hello,

I am customising a TFS process template using the process template editor. I have the following scenario on hand. 

A user should be able to move the Task work item to closed state only if it satisfies at least one of the two conditions:

1. The task is linked to a changeset

2. The task is linked to a deliverable whose state is Closed.

Can I check these conditions in the workflow during the state transition. If yes, can you please point me to any links that describe a similar scenario? Thanks.

Thanks for your post.

As far as I know we can’t check these two conditions in the default work item state transitions, you need to create the custom control to achieve that.
