QuestionDoes TFS2010 Beta 2 Upgrade Support Migration of Custom Work Item Forms?

We are currently using TFS 2008, with MSF for Agile Software Development process template and have customize work items (bugs, requirements, change requests).  I noticed that MSF for Agile template v.5 no longer include Change Request work item, so I would like to use MSF for CMMI Process Improvement v5.0 when we upgrade to TFS 2010.  Will my customized work item forms work after the upgrade if I changed my process template from Agile to CMMI?

The process template is used at the time of a project's creation, to define what the work item types/reports/etc... are. After the project is created, there is no linkage between the process template and the project created from it.

So,  your existing custimized work item forms will continue to work as they did before after the upgrade.

This also means that for any team projects that exist, they will not be upgraded with any new work item types provided in the 2010 process Agile/CMMI process templates.

Those 2010 process templates will only affect new team projects that are created after the upgrade.

Thanks for your response, Gregg.  I'm going to play around more with TFS 2010 and test out the CMMI template.
