TFS Beta PowerTools: Unable to open WIT Editor

Today I started from a clean OS, then:
1. Installed Visual Studio Team Explorer 2012
2. Installed TFS Beta Power Tools 11
When I attempt to open a .wit file, using Tools > Process Editor > Open WIT from file (or from server)
the WIT UI editor does not launch and instead I only see
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><workItemType dslVersion="3.0.0.0" Name="Project" source="http://cscsi-01:8080/tfs/projects/CSI/Project" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/dsltools/WITDesigner" />
What I expect to see is the WIT editor.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling both Visual Studio and Power Tools but this does not work.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you,
Jody

Hi Jody
I managed to get similar behavior when I try to open wit from file, an XML file, when that file was created using VS2010.
Please check if this solution helps you - in the folder where you have, for example, Bug.xml and Bug.wit - please rename the wit file and then try to open the XML.Dan
