Cannot login to TFS - no errors
If this is hard for me, its gonna be even harder for you. Suddenly, I cannot logon to my TFS server and no errors are received.
This have been running for about a year, but this morning it didnt work.
On the client server:
I'm trying to connect from visual studio and is prompted for username/password. The tfs-server is not in my domain or network. It wont log me in. No errors, just keep prompting me.
In the eventviewer under security i see Logon attempt using explicit credentials. And the logon information are correct. Using Fiddler I say that the request is sent. Furthermore, im able to use the browser and access the TFS.
On another client server both within same network as TFS and not: Works with no problem.
On the TFS: In the log file i see that a request from my bugging client came but there's no entry in the event viewer, whereas logon requests from other servers gives the successful audit entry.
Conclusion: Since im able to logon from other clients than this, I assume that this specific client is bugged. Any ideas?

- I had the support team create a new AD user for me, and then it worked. First they tried to delete my profile on the VPC, but still that didnt help. I still dont know whats wrong with my other AD user.

Hi,
are you able to open your VS Client and then are you trying to connect TFS server through Team Explorer???

TFS Support,Capgemini India- Hi thank you for answering, and yes i am. Thats where i keep being prompted for username password.
Its only from this VPC that noone is able to connect. Works like a charm from other VPCs. - Hi Bams,
What was the result did you get with Fiddler? The http status code and the response. like 401 or 200?
What do you mean by "The tfs-server is not in my domain or network"? Do you mean that the TFS is in Internet?
Best Regards,
Ruiz

When logging on to VPC with another AD user - im able to logon to TFS throgh team explorer.
So apparently it has something to do with my ad user. - Hi Bams,
Could you connect to TFS on another client with your ad user? Did you add him to TFS as an member of a project?

Ruiz

I am a member of the project since the problem only accour on this server with this AD user. With another AD user I can logon to the same client VPC and then Im able to connect to TFS using my own tfs logon.

- Hi Bams,
Thank you for your reply.
I suspect that there would be something corrupted or confused for your previous AD user.
Thank you for your kindly sharing. :)
