Hi
I'd like to know the SQL server compatibility matrix for Team Foundation Server 2008 SP1. Looks like the details in the below link are recently removed (marking obsolete): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee175815(v=VS.90).aspx. Where can I find the updated details? Specifically we are planning to upgrade from SQL Server 2005 SP2 to a latest available version and would like to know what versions of SQL Server 2008 and beyond are supported with TFS 2008 SP1 version. Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

I pulled the following from another forum post: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/tfsadmin/thread/022bdf28-164e-4134-b4b2-f9bc43681e0e
According that MSDN document, the below versions of SQL Server are compatible with TFS 2008 SP1:
SQL Server 2005 SP1 SQL Server 2005 SP2 SQL Server 2005 SP3
SQL Server 2008 SQL Server 2008 SP1 SQL Server 2008 SP1 CU3
My team did not use the R2 versions with TFS 2008, but rather SQL Server 2008 SP1.

Hello Dasrik,
I was trying to find compatibility matrix but also was unsuccessful. I raised this question in TFS Team, now we are working on it. I will update you when I get new information.
Just to mention, there were tests performed and now TFS 2008 SP1 + SQL Server 2005 SP4 is a supported scenario.
Thank you,
Evgeniya

Thanks Evgeniya!
I was able to download the help file from the above link, but it did not display any content. Are you able to see the content without any issues? Am I missing anything else?
Specifically, this is what I wanted to find out. Is TFS 2008 SP1 compatible with SQL Server 2008 R2?
In the above post from GMCOLLINS, R2 version is not listed, so wanted to be sure if that is compatible or not.
Thanks!

I was able to resolve issues with the help file by following instructions on this thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/devdocs/thread/ef2b95e0-4198-4e1a-b876-314a23348b5e/
The help file contained all the necessary details I was looking for. As per the help file, SQL Server 2008 SP3 is also supported.
Thank you all for the support.
