Was wondering if someone ran into something like this before.
I tryed diff. collection names but getting the same error. It is a fresh install.
TF255332: The following SharePoint site cannot be created: http://sharepointdev/sites/TFSCollection. A site that has the same name already exists. The site name is derived from the name of the team project collection. Either you must specify a different name for the collection, or you must specify the option not to create a collection at this point in the wizard, finish the wizard, and create a collection later.

Thank you for your post.
"sharepointdev" is your TFS instance or not?
Is there any database with name of "TFSCollection" in TFS database?
Is there any detail event log?
What's the version of yout SharePoint product? Can you open SharePoint Central Administration?

IT is Sharepoint 2010 Ent.
I verified with our DBA and it looks like that DB wan't created during TF install
sharepointdev is my sharepoint developer server. It has Central Admin and WFE. I was trying to install TF which installs sucesfully. Once i'm going through config wizard and it runs a verifacation that's the error i get
i don't see anything on the event logs
