Unable to import WIT File in TFS 2010

Hi,

Tabs disabled for work item in TFS, Rich text format is disabled.
Please find the attachments for Ref.

 

 I have modified work item  , tried to import WIT File got  the below error message.

Rich Text Format is not appearing under investigation details and Investigation summary Tabs. Tabs are disabled.

Please help me its very urgent.

Hi ,

I am able to upload wit file now, after Changes Field Names in Work Flow .

My problem is not solved  still Rich text format is disabled.

I found that in Work flow Transition Test.InvestigationDetailsHtml  and Test.ResolutionDetailsHtml Rules have Read only

I have removed  where ever  Test.InvestigationDetailsHtml -  Read only  and Test.ResolutionDetailsHtml - Read only. PFA SNAPSHOT(T3)

But another two Transition have  Rules - Read Only - for : [project]\Submitters only and not: [project]\Business Ops Team. PFA SNAPSHOT(T3)

These two rules required as project so that  have n't  removed  it .

For urgent issue,  I suggest you to contact a Professional Support Service at http://support.microsoft.com/ to gain more support on this case.

Do you want to define two new fields, and add transition for them? Would you please let us know what you want to do? Would you please let us know the steps you have done in detail, not very clear the operations now.

Now, your question is TF26035 or "Error importing work item definition: The element'FIELD' has incomplete content...."?

After you define "Solution Details Html" and "Investigation Details" fields, try to save the definition, is there any error occur? If you can save the fields definition, new field definition is OK. If you edit transition, but when save the transition, cannot save, we may can narrow down the issue to transition edition.

Hi Lily Wu,

I have already two fields they are Test.InvestigationDetails  and Test.ResolutionDetails Rules have Read only in Workflow.

I have Edited those two fields and replaced it Test.InvestigationDetailsHtml  and Test.ResolutionDetailsHtml Rules have Read only Bcoz  Those two are TABS Read only Tabs.

I have checked in Work  Transition Test.InvestigationDetailsHtml  and Test.ResolutionDetailsHtml Rules  mentioned as  Read only to enable Tabs I have removed Read only  rule  for all Transitions in work flow  for two fields Test.InvestigationDetailsHtml  and Test.ResolutionDetailsHtml .

After that I tried to update wit file i got the above error PFA SNAPSHOT ( T2) above.

I know problem  here  The  Rule mentioned Read only due to read only   unable to get Rich text format for those tabs.

I Want to remove remove where rule as Read only But another two Transition have  Rules - Read Only - for : [project]\Submitters only and not: [project]\Business Ops Team. PFA SNAPSHOT(T3) above.

Please provide steps to achieve my requirement.

Hi All,

 Finally I am able to fix my probelm.

We whould check workflow  each Transitions and State where ever we have the specified filed name  as Readonly we have remove  it and  set  same value as Default value for that particular filed all transitions and States In workflow.

 My problem got fixed now
