  • Team Explorer Everywhere 11 Developer Preview Now Available!

Martin WoodwardMicrosoft EmployeeFriday, September 16, 2011 6:16 PM

Just wanted to let you know that the Team Explorer Everywhere 11 Developer Preview is now publicly available from the Microsoft Download Center.

    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=228575

Please download it, take a look and let us know what you think.  We recommend that you install this one in a separate Eclipse installation for now and use a separate Eclipse workspace.  That way if you run into bugs then you can easily swap Eclipse instances and be back up and running on Team Explorer Everywhere 2010 SP1.

Note that if you have access to the Team Foundation Service Preview (tfspreview.com) then this is the version that you want to run with as it has the code in to authenticate with TFS in the cloud.  It also supports Local Workspaces (I know many of you will be glad to hear that the read-only bit is now gone in this next version of TFS!)

Please let us know what you think.  It would help a lot if you start the subject line of your post with "TEE11: " if it is feedback about this Developer Preview release, but don't worry if you forget as long as you mention it in the question we should be able to figure it out.

    Many thanks,

    Martin.

  • TFS Power Tools for Eclipse Available Now

Martin WoodwardMicrosoft EmployeeFriday, December 16, 2011 1:41 PM

We've just released the TFS Power Tools for Eclipse - a set of extensions to Team Explorer Everywhere that add the following features to Team Explorer Everywhere 2010 SP1:

    • Alerts Explorer - Add and edit Team Foundation Server alerts such as getting email notifications when you are assigned a work item or when you failed a build.
    • Work Item Templates - Save common data that you enter into work items and then easily create new work items from these templates.
    • Find in Source Control - Easily find that file you know exists but you don't know where it was checked in to. Or find files checked out by a particular user anywhere in the repository.

Let us know what you think.

    Martin.

  • TFS SDK for Java Available Now

Martin WoodwardMicrosoft EmployeeSaturday, June 04, 2011 5:55 AM

We recently just made available the same core API layer that we use in Team Explorer Everywhere as a redistributable library for use in your own applications.  Even better we added a bunch of code snippets and examples.  We also included some example check-in policies and custom work item controls and with full Javadoc.

For more information see the following links:

Let us know what you think and if you create anything interesting with the SDK.  If you have any questions about usage then feel free to post in this forum.
