Syncing Non-Microsoft Devices

Question

Can I sync two iPhones or Android devices? Or does the Sync Runtime need to exist on one of the devices?

i dont think so. while the Sync Toolkit opens up the possibility to use other platforms for the client, it's still not built to allow  device-to-device, peer-to-peer sync, even so for non-ms platform devices.
