Suggestion: Auto update in thread view

Question

When in the "Forum", "My Threads" and "My Forums Threads" pages, the list is periodically updated and highlights any new/updated threads.

This behaviour would be very useful when viewing or responding to a thread i.e. automatically display and highlight new posts. All too often you spend some time putting together an answer (if you want it to be of any quality) and by the time you submit your post, there are 3 other answers that were submitted by other people within minutes of each other. neither of which knew about the other.

You then end up either crediting the first reposnse or all responses neither of which is ideal depending on individual points of view.

You could probably reduce the number of similar responses by a fair percentage with this functionality. You could even make the refresh optional or refresh interval user configurable.

Good suggestion. I have seen it working in some other forum and it really helps.
