Hello All:
I have SQL Server 2008 R2 (Express) & SQL Server 2012 installed in my system (Windows 8) and I am able to connect both using SSMS. But the configuration manage is listing only SQL Server 2008.
Any help is highly appreciable.

@Babu:
You meant SQL Server 2008 R2 configuration manager? If so, it is not showing SQL server 2012 services. It is showing only 2008 instance.

Can you try to run as Administrator & also Some policies should be enable for the network account & on WMI ,I guess meanwhile can you try with RUN as administrator.
or try with the service account -Still the same issue, share the error.
Are you getting any error when you are clicking services?.

Try SQL Server 2012 Configuration Manager. Do you see 2008?
Usually old version of any software does not "see" the next version. To do that in the past with SS you had to install some hotfix or the latest version of service pack on the old version.
What is 2008 @@version?

Hi Suman85,
Based on your description, it seems that SQL Server Configuration Manager 2008 R2 and SQL Server Configuration Manager 2012 have not be installed. I suggest running SQL Server installation media and add Management tools feature. For more detail information, please refer to the following link:

Hi Allen,
I have SQL Server Configuration Manager 2008 R2 installed but not its 2012 counter part. To install the same I ran SQL Server 2012 set up file. But the wizard is showing "Management Tools (Complete)" as are already installed and not allowing me to install again.

Friday, November 23, 2012 4:08 AMAre you logged on as the administrator on the machine? It is possible that the administrator account has access to the 2012 Configurations Manager.
If you're happy and you know it vote and mark.

Hi, based on your reply, I suggesting checking the following things:
1. Search “SQL Server Configuration Manager” again within the programs to check whether SQL Server Configuration Manager 2012 has been installed.
2. Run SQL Server installation file again, when SQL Server Installation Center opens, click “Options” to make sure this is a SQL Server 2012 installation file.Allen Li
