    I get this error message when I attempt to expand the Databases item in the Object Explorer

    Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.OLE.Interop.IServiceProvider'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{6D5140C1-7436-11CE-8034-00AA006009FA}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)). (Microsoft.VisualStudio.OLE.Interop)

    I also get this message when trying to use the datasource configuration wizzard in Visual c# 2005 Express Edition.

    Can anybody help?

    I am having the exact same problem.  Help?

    I've seen in another post that someone has posted a "fix" that involves adding registry entries.  I've tried that, and it still won't work.

    I get the error when starting Management Studio.  I can clear the message, and Management Studio works fine, except that now the Object Explorer won't work at all.
