Alternatives for ERWIN MODEL MANAGER
Alternatives for ERWIN MODEL MANAGER
- Hi All, In our project, we are using CA ERWIN Data modeler for modeling our applications database(SQL Server 2008). We have a single .Erwin file which is a master data model for the whole project which in-tern has 4-5 subject areas in it. There are more than 4 designers working on the same .Erwin file. This creates a challenge of maintaining the single master model file with all the latest updates from multiple designers. We could use TFS for version control but compare and merge needs to be done manually which increases the risks involved in missing the updates. We are aware of the CA Erwin Model Manager which is the perfect solution for our case. At Infosys we currently don’t have licenses for this add in we have procure from the vendor which takes about 3-4 weeks lead time. Kindly suggest if there is any open source tool for this purpose which we can use as substitute for Model Manger. Note: We have already in to the design stage, any quick help would be of a great help Thanks, Bharani M.
