Ok so I'm trying to do a reinstall of 2008.  I'm having some pretty serious issues though.  I constantly get the Restart required failure at the Rules step.  If I try to uninstall in Safe mode, I get error messages during the uninstall.

Also I know this isn't the place for it but I get a Critical error message when I try uninstall MSXML 6.

Well I looked around and I think my windows install had gone bad so to speak.  I was having issues uninstalling several programs, if I tried in Safe Mode it would go through and complete but nothing would actually be done(all files would still be there as well as start menu items).  I went ahead and did a fresh install of windows.
