    SQL Server 2005 version 9.00.3042 summary.txt indicates successful but above update keeps failing with error code 2B08 "Unknown error".

    Hi,

     

    Could you please post the contents of Summary.txt. Default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Hotfix .

    Hi Prashant Jha - I was able to solve problem. Used the solution posted elsewhere which suggested to install using shutdown option. Update now shows sucessfully installed.
