I had Sql Server 2005 Exprs on my Windows 7 machine at home. It is a stand-alone system... and at this time, do not have internet access at home. I upgraded my instanse to 2008 R2... then tried to install Sql Server management Studio(x86)... It either didn't work, or I'm just not looking in the correct place for the application. In control-panel, I don't find any reference to management studio bining installed. Did I install things in the wrong order? Should I have installed Management studio and then upgraded to 2008 R2? I am the administrator on my machine, and I don't recieve any 'errors'. When I start up the program, it does display a 'compatibility issue' with Windows 7... Is there something else I need to fix this?

Hello,
If you cannot find it on Start -> All Program -> Microsoft SQL Server, then try to install it on the following link:

Hi Rick,
Running an update updates the existing features available. As express do not include Management Studio you have to run the setup od SQL Server 2008 R2 to select the feature. While installing SQL Server 2008 R2, in the features page select the client tools and Management Tools features to install Management Studio.
Hope this helps.
