Please upgrade VS 2008 Professional to SP1 error when istalling SQL Server 2008 Developer
- I'm getting an error message saying that I need to upgrade Visual Studio 2008 Professional to SP1 when I try and install SQL Server 2008 Developer edition. The thing is I have already done so. There are absolutely no updates available in Windows Update (I am running Windows Vista x64 Ultimate) so I have no idea how to fix this problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

- Well I decided to download the SP1 installer manually. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

Excellent, thanks. That certainly looks like it contains some useful info. As it turns out it was just because I needed to install SP1 manually where as I assumed it would come over Windows Update like most of the other tool patches do.- Hello Cromulent,
Not Windows update but Microsoft updates and only if your VS has been registered. Moreover, the updates for VS and SQL Server were not proposed before August of this year ( thanks to an update to Microsoft Update )
