Hi All,
We recently had SQL Server 2012 Enterprise licenses. Now i got a requirement to install a developer edition of sql server 2012. Can you please let me know where can i get the developer edition ? sorry for the dumb question.
if i download a trial version from microsoft site and enter same key of enterprise edition, does it mean it the edition will be developer edition.
My question is does developer/standar/enterprise depends on the KEY that we enter ?

PID determintes the edition of SQL Server. So Media (setup.exe) is same for all edition its the PID (key) that determines the edition of SQL server.- Marked As Answer by SQLism Wednesday, March 20, 2013 7:03 PM

Thanks Alberto/ Chirag,
So, if we have a developer edition installed on a box. Later in future if we want to make the developer edition as a Enterprise edition, than we can change it just by changing licensing key ?
