SQL Server 2008 Developer Installation on Vista x64 UltimateHello,

I recently got Server 2008 Developer for testing purposes, and am trying to install it on my Vista x64 Ultimate machine. I previously had SQL Server 2005 which I removed.

When I run the install, I get al the way to where it says: Install_sql_bids_Cpu64_Action: Write_NativeImage_64. Generating Native Images

However, it has been sitting there for over 4 hours. I've canceled out before, and tried to uninstall the installed components, but the uninstall doesn't work either (can't rollback to 2005 because the Native Client doesn't remove properly).

There is activity from the setup100.exe process that is running. Occassionally I'll see it do something on the cpu (0 to 5) but the installation doesn't progress.

Any help would be wonderful. The removal of 2005 was nasty, had to manually delete directories and the uninstall didn't progress properly either.© 2009 Microsoft Corporation. However, I didn't get a lot of the tools (none of the management tools), and I couldn't run an Add from Add/Remove because it kept failing with error SKU.
