It is bit simple,
1. execute setup.exe file , will open SQL SERVER INSTALLATION CENTER
2. Click on INSTALLATION tab -- > click on NEW SQL SERVER STAND ALONE INSTALLATION
3. During the tab of INSTANCE CONFIGURATION , Just provide the INSTANCE ROOT DIRECTORY to some other drive..
And then enjoy the rest tabs..

thanks for your reply, I tried it but it will occupy C: drive usage of 2040 mb, its giving an error like this.
[Error Message]
Insufficient space available in directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\. 0MB is required for this feature, and 2040MB is required for all features on this volume. 533MB is available.
I want to install SQL server completely in other drive..
Please try to solve this problem..

Hi Charan
There are Few Components you cannot change the default path. Please find the link below.
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143547.aspx
But still you could try the following steps in Test Server ( NOT IN PRODUCTION)
Step 1: Change the ProgramFilesDir value in the registry to the new path
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
Step 2: During the SQL 2005 Install under the components to install screen
check off all desired components and click advanced in the lower right
of the window. Ensure each points to the new path or change path(s) as desired.
Please note that the setup bootstrap files should have already gone to the new path.
Step 3: After the install completes change the regkey back to original directory.
I have tried this in my test server long back for SQL2005 which was good and worked without any issues.

Charan,
When you install SQL Server, some of the components will still gets installed in C drive eventhough you specify some other directory in the installation. You need to have minimum of 2~2.5 GB free space (but it will use around 500 MB) in C: drive to proceed with the installation, else your installation will fail specifying this reason. I hope in your case you have around 600 MB in C: drive, try to increase the fee space to 2.5GB and then proceed with the installation.
In some cases I found page file is using more space, so I've moved page file to another drive to create the free space and then installation sql server. Once sql server installed successfully, I've moved back the page file to C: drive.
