Sorry, this is not enough information to work with.  Are you saying that you can see AdventureWorks2008 from Object Explorer but cannot access the database, or that AdventureWorks2008 does not appear in the Object Explorer at all?   What error message are you getting?

Unlike the other AdventureWorks sample databases,  AdventureWorks2008 requires that you have Full-text Search installed and FILESTREAM enabled.  You should start by verifying that these are properly installed.  Start by reading  the prerequisite information for installing the sample databases and (http://msftdbprodsamples.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?title=Database%20Prerequisites) and follow all instructions.  If you continue to have problems after following these instructions, please provide a detailed explanation of the problem including any error messages you see.

    Kind regards,
    Gail

I have tried to install the adventureworks2008 sample database and I continue to not be able to do it.  I try to install the adventureworksDW2008 and the Adventureworks2008 databases.  At the end of the install that finishes without errors I have the adventureworksDW2008 database and I DO NOT have the adventureworks2008 database.  I have tried changing a few minor things when removing and reinstalling.  However, every time the adventureworks2008 database is not installed.

What operating system are you using? There is a known issue with Windows XP at the moment.
