Unanswered Cannot install Samples in named instance SQL Server 2008 R2 cluster

    A fatal error error occurred during installation. Details:

    Object reference not set to an instance of an object

    2 x SQL Server 2008 R2 x64 named instances. Both have FullText and Filestream access enabled. Both 10.50.1720

    O/S: Windows Server 2008 R2

    Installer run by administrator on both cluster nodes

    Run installer on node that currently owns both instances

    Are their any failover cluster specific install instructions?

    The logs located at SetupBootstrap folder will give you more insight to the failed installtion.

    Where exactly is the Samples log file. The SetupBootstrap folder (appears) to only contain my last SQL Server instance installs.
